I took Madi to the doctor yesterday and she got her 4 year shots. She had to get four of them and that's a lot for a child that knows how to sucker punch. Oh well - she is doing okay now. But she had a lot to cry about when the nurse was shoving those needles in her legs.
Madi weighed in at 40 lbs and she is 42" long. Big girl. She passed her vision and hearing tests with flying colors. She kept begging me, the nurses, the doctor, the people passing by to go to the bathroom that she didn't want to get shots. She was pissed when the doctor gave them to her. I felt so bad for her. But then we left and got ice cream (cotton candy blizzard from Dairy Queen) and she got to come back to the office with me. Now - I undertand that it might not sound like the most ideal thing but she loved it. All she could talk about is how she loved my best friends (Mr. Reddy - my boss and Mr. Mike). Haha. She was hilarious.
Pre-K has not been kind to Madi. She's had lots of checks by her name (just to clarify - that's NOT a good thing). She has had to miss recess nearly every day. She just wants to play and talk and she's not quite used to needing to sit down and listen. That's very challenging for her. But now she has homework. Yikes! And just in time for the fall TV shows to start. Darn - I guess this is what parenting is about. Muting the TV during commercials to help your kids w/ homework.
